Dinner & A Movie I

Dinner & a Movie - Paul Gilmartin

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Indiana University at Bloomington with a degree in theater and drama, Paul Gilmartin's family keeps waiting for him to get a "real" job. Instead, he's co-hosted Dinner & a Movie for eight seasons now, for which he's been nominated for a Cable ACE Award. Prior to that he was a writer for the Emmy Awards and for The Dennis Miller Show.

Paul studied at the Second City Training Center in Chicago and never looked back. He's been performing stand-up comedy since 1987 in clubs both in the U.S. and abroad. He's also appeared on dozens of shows, including Politically Incorrect, VH1's The List, HBO Comedy Showcase, and MTV's Half-Hour Comedy Hour.

As a sketch actor, you may have caught him on Not Necessarily the Elections on HBO and in Sketchapalooza at the 1996 Aspen Comedy Festival. Paul's CD, "Sex, Religion, and Death", is played on radio. In spite of all this, Paul's still a sensitive guy. He writes poetry, some of which is featured on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom Show and on his website (paulgilmartin.com).
